Thornhill Florist Words of Sympathy

Sending flowers in memory of the deceased to the funeral home is a thoughtful way to demonstrate your bereavement and support of the family. When sending a sympathy card or note of condolence it is often difficult to know what to say or how to phrase your thoughts and feelings.

To help inspire you finding the right thing to say we have put together a collection of some of the better verses from around the internet.

Use it with funeral cards, condolence messages, bereavement verses, bereavement messages and condolences words.

We create custom funeral tributes, casket sprays, wreathes and sympathy arrangements. Please See our wide range of:

Be sure to include the first and last name of each person associated with the gift that is sent, this will help avoid confusion for the family when they recognize those that sent an arrangement. When sending a gift from a group of people, specifically an office, be sure to include the name of the business, and the individual names that contributed to the gift.

You can insert any of the verses below into your sympathy card or note of condolence.

  1. Our hearts are heavy with sadness and tears, But our memories are full of the love and kindness you gave over the years. Missing you always.
  2. There are no goodbyes for us, wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.
  3. When the way comes to an end, then change. Having changed, you pass through.
  4. This is the comfort of friends: that though they may be said to die, yet their friendship and society are, in the best sense immortal, because they are ever present. William Penn.

  6. Say not in grief he is no more but live in thankfulness that he was - Hebrew proverb.
  7. Everything that has a beginning has an ending. Make your peace with that and all will be well. - Buddhist saying.
  8. Before the sublime mystery of life and spirit, the mystery of infinite space and endless time, we stand in reverent awe.
This much we know: we are at least one phase of the immortality of life.
The mighty stream of life flows on, and, in this mighty stream, we too flow on...not lost...but each eternally significant.
For this I feel: The spirit never betrays the person who trusts it. Physical life may be defeated but life goes on; character survives, goodness lives and love is immortal.
    - Col Robert G. Ingersoll
  9. Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift, which is why it is called the present.
  10. You are in our thoughts and our prayers.
    But Not Forgotten
I think no matter where you stray,
That I shall go with you a way.
Though you may wander sweeter lands,
You will not forget my hands,
Nor yet the way I held my head
Nor the tremulous things I said.
You will still see me, small and white
And smiling, in the secret night,
And feel my arms about you when
The day comes fluttering back again.
I think, no matter where you be,
You'll hold me in your memory
And keep my image there without me,
By telling later loves about me.
    Dylan Thomas.
  11. Our thoughts go out to you at such a sad time.
  12. There is much to remember and much to be thankful for as we remember (Name) and the way he shared his/her life with those around him/her. Each of us gives gifts of ourselves to those we share life with. These are gifts that no one can take away. Though we are gone, these gifts remain with those to whom we have given them.
  13. God has called back one of his angels you will always be in our hearts.
  14. Rest in peace and know that we will never forget you.
  15. The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers and cities; but to know someone who thinks and feels with us, and who, though distant, is close to us in spirit, this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden. - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
  16. He/She is greatly missed, forever cherished and always remembered.
  17. All fondness unexpressed, All farewells unspoken, All smiles unseen, A waterfall of tears is not enough.
  18. We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
    Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him
    Much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes And try to understand.
    anon.
  19. I will remember you and love you forever

That beyond the anger there may be peace.
That beyond the hurting there may be forgiveness.
That beyond the silence there may be the word.
That beyond the word there may be understanding.
That through understanding there is love.
    anon.

I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sun on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
